
Sotto Voce is a collectively run opera company based in Buffalo NY. Their repertoire consists of both canonical and new dramatic vocal works and their performances feature both local and national talent – including many musicians who are a regular part of our UUCB community!
Sotto Voce has been housed by the UU Church of Buffalo since their inception in 2016. Sotto Voce’s musical offerings serve as a part of UUCB’s extended ministry to the Buffalo community through music and educational programming.

For their February 2024 production of The Magic Flute by W.A. Mozart, Sotto Voce will hold an open dress rehearsal for Buffalo music students on Wednesday February 21, 2024 from 6-8pm. Want to know more about how Sotto Voce has reimagined W.A. Mozart’s classic singspiel Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute)? Come to UUCB on Saturday, February 17th 2024 at 2pm for an engaging and informative pre-opera talk by film and stage director Alex Huddleston, with a special preview of his short films based on the work’s original spoken texts, as well as musical numbers sung by the production’s prime donne and primi uomini.
