Singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Derick Evans and Nick Randall will perform an original 1 hour and 18-minute song-cycle for 2 voices, electric guitar, and electric bass. This new work - entitled “Darryl Donahue: One Day." - paints a musical portrait of a fictionalized white-collared stranger, with each song dedicated to an hour of that day. Join us on the lawn (or in the sanctuary in case of rain or too much heat!) for a performance by the UUCB House Band - featuring vocalists Jessie Downs, Taryn Goehrig, Helen Lowry, Liam Allen, and Michael Harris; pianist Chris Sierzchula; guitarist, bassist, and vocalist Paul Zanolli; guitarist Alex Huddleston; percussionist Dave Stiles; and a special appearance by vocalist Shaun Doyle. We will be playing music by Queen, The Hollies, Burt Bacharach, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Cat Stevens, Billy Joel, CSN, and Lucinda Williams and sharing a little of the spirit of UUCB with the general public.
Join a subset of the UUCB Choir inside our beautiful historic sanctuary for a performance showcasing our diverse repertoire and passion for music-making. The show will feature compositions by Giuseppe Verdi, Moses Hogan, Rodgers & Hammerstein, G.F. Handel, Ysaye M. Barnwell, Jonathan Larson, and Antonin Dvorak, as well as a couple of folk song arrangements.
